Happy November bloggers!

I know that mid terms are happening and there is a general level of stress around campus.  So let's take a little break from our usual blogging this week and discuss more fun topics.  Please discuss the following:

  • What role do costumes or trick-or-treating play in a business?
  • How did the organization where you are interning deal with Halloween?
  • What is an appropriate age for kids to stop trick-or-treating?

Take a deep breath.  Know that you are getting experience that you need to help you in the future!

My best,
Kristi

  1. Hi all,

First in my opinion, the role of costumes and trick-or-treating at a business depends on the type of business. I think it is especially important if a business works with kids to have Halloween play some sort of role during the October season. Letting kids be kids, by letting them have fun and dress up is a great experience for them. Otherwise I think most businesses probably don't need to emphasize Halloween or are to busy with other tasks to care about Halloween.

Second at the organization I work at, Vista Hills, we don't really do anything for Halloween. Most of our effort is focused at other events. For the winery Halloween isn't as important as other activities we have to prepare for, such as Thanksgiving events, holiday gift packages and so forth.

Lastly,I think middle school is an appropriate age for kids to stop trick-or-treating. After middle school kids can still dress up and go to parties, but trick-or-treating is geared at younger kids.
